Shubha Ranjan Singh, a resident of Shyamnagar and a leader of the Trinamool Chhatra Parishad (TMCP) in Barrackpore, has been accused of approving passport verifications using the name of an organisation called Ganpati Enterprises. The allegation was made by former Barrackpore MP and BJP leader Arjun Singh, who claimed that Singh was involved in irregularities related to passport clearance documents under the firm's name.
According to Arjun Singh, the use of Ganpati Enterprises in official passport verification work raises serious concerns, and he has demanded an investigation into the matter. Singh alleged that Shubha Ranjan Singh's position in the student wing of the ruling party was being misused and named him in connection with the alleged approvals. The TMCP leader is known to be familiar with Trinamool Congress’s state president Trinankur Bhattacharya, though no official statement has been released from the party regarding the allegation.
When reporters visited Shubha Ranjan Singh's residence at Ganguly Para in Shyamnagar, he was not present. His mother, Krishna Singh, said, “All the allegations against my son are baseless. He is being framed. Forged signatures are being used to defame him.”
